About

Characteristics
Shy, Loving, fearful
House-trained
Yes
Health
Vaccinations up to date, spayed / neutered, special needs. • Chuck has resource guarding issues and protects what are his: people, food and toys. He growls if someone gets to close or if he feels threatened. The growling will escalate to biting if he is threatened for too long. We can show you how to make him comfortable and set up a routine that is best for him and your household. • Chuck also seems to have a negative history with men, so any male in the household or that visits will need to know how to approach Chuck from the front door on. In a neutral space though, like a park, Chuck has zero problems with men and is known to leap onto their laps. • Chuck will need patience and obedience training. He knows how to wait at the door and the term, “leave it,” but sit/stay/heel are not yet in his vocabulary. There are some subtle clues that in a past life he may have had some training, so we hope additional training will be easy. .
Good in a home with

Meet Chuck

Doesn't he look like a little raccoon? At two years old, 17 lbs, Chuck is a cutie! He can be a really sweet guy AFTER he gets to know you. He is good with other dogs, cats and kids over 12. Chuck can be shy and timid with a slight growl at first but once he knows he is safe and comfortable he warms right up - he is VERY treat motivated. Chuck likes pets on HIS terms at this point. I can see this improving in time with a stable loving patient home. Chuck loves walks, is crate trained, and housebroken. Chuck is smart enough to know he has been powerless in chaos and as a result security is high on his priorities. The right home will understand he needs time to explore and decide that he is safe. After that - the sky's the limit! Chuck's adoption fee is $250. For more information, please email: avrisundell@gmail.com
