Chubby's Story

This guy comes with a story.

Chubby was found roaming the streets of NYC. A Good Samaritan found him bleeding around his neck.

She took him in and took him to the vet. She even neutered him in hopes to find him a good home. She didn't. After a few weeks, she had no alternative but to bring him to the New York Animal Care Centers where he stayed until his time was up.

He was placed on the euthanasia list and his story could have ended there. It didn't. An amazing woman stepped up to save his life..

These are CHUBBY'S STATS:
Approximate age 5
Approximate weight 60
Breed (s) Amstaff mix
Spayed or neutered? Yes
Paper trained? N/A

Chubby almost became a foster failure (when the foster adopts the foster dog) but she realizes that he would do best in a home with another dog because he just loves company. Chubby is an entertaining guy. He's so exuberant and friendly.

This is what his foster mom has to say:
He needs someone who will run with him and spend a lot of time with him and preferably who already has another dog he can play with.

He likes to wrestle and play chase. He tends to be submissive with other dogs; I think because he just wants to be liked.

He’s friendly and wants to be friends with everyone - people, other dogs. Sometimes he gets over-excited. So the owner needs to be strong for when that happens.

He likes walks in the woods and when it’s raining and drive in the car.

He has an active mind and needs stimulation. (so if there is another dog who likes to play…)

He loves cuddling and playing with his toys and enjoys chews.

He doesn't like his crate much. I think it reminds him of the shelter.

He likes yoga mats to lie on. From thin to thick. He doesn't seem to like any traditional dog beds.

Enjoys being dried off after a walk in the rain.
