Meet Christine
Christine is a stunner— it’s no wonder you’ve found your way to her page! But this 70-pound Flat-coated Retriever mix is so much more than just a pretty face. She is exceedingly smart, goofy, and well-behaved.
Ready to be impressed? Once a stray, Christine is now housebroken, crate-trained, and good left home alone (even without a crate). She reserves her barking for the doorbell and people who pass by the window, and is easily motivated by treats, particularly cheese. Christine also answers to Rosie.
Christine can be a little shy at first and is scared of loud noises, so she should ideally be in a relatively quiet and patient home. She would also do best as a single dog or in a family that is able to provide slow introductions between herself and another resident dog. This sweet 5-year-old girl is friendly with the dogs and people she meets on walks, but wants to guard her family and has shown signs in the past of being territorial towards other dogs in the home as a result. With slow introductions and boundary lessons, however, Christine’s foster reports that she has quickly learned to coexist and enjoy playing with the resident dog.
Some of Christine’s favorite activities include running around the yard, getting her ears scratched, and cuddling with her people. But all this loyal girl really wants is a family that will provide her the security and love she needs. If you think Christine is right for you, fill out an application for her today!

We love our dogs. We want happy lives for all of them and are looking for the home that provides the best fit for each dog’s individual needs. Please understand that there may be multiple families interested in this dog. Come to the show to find out if this dog is the right fit for you — it's helpful to bring all family members and current dogs.
Also, please know that the breed mix listed is simply a guess. In most cases, we don’t know their background. We encourage you to base your decision on individual personality and pet qualities instead of relying on our guess.
Please understand, we only adopt our animals out near the Chicagoland area. Questions? Email us at adoptions@sccrescue.org. Hope to see you become part of the SCCR family!
