Charlie #72 Chocolate Labrador Retriever Killingworth, CT

Meet 9 month old Charlie #72, a purebred chocolate Labrador retriever who weighs in at 68 lbs of chocolate. He was an owner surrender, due to the fact that they had no time for him and didn't realize the effort needed to properly train a puppy. He is house trained and crate trained. He really enjoys his toys, especially tennis balls, durable squeaky toys, bones, and Kongs. He loves to a good chew, go for walks and hikes, and would make a good companion for someone who enjoys jogging with their dog. He is very friendly and loving, just looking for someone willing to guide him to his full potential. He is a quick learner and knows his basic commands. Charlie should attend a basic obedience class with his new owner as he is a strong, active dog, but not hyper. He settles down nicely after a good walk or playing out in the yard. This dog has every attribute to become involved in active sports, the obedience ring, etc., given the proper guidance. A good placement for him is with someone that is committed to his training, if there are kids in the family, only older kids due to his exuberance. He could live with another dog or not, and we do not know about cats.

ADOPTION FEES: $445 non-refundable adoption fee for all vet expenses (spay/neuter, shots, etc.) and transportation to ensure your lab gets to you in a safe, professional manner. All fees may be paid using PayPal, cashier's checks, or money orders. Labs4rescue does not accept personal checks for adoption fees. All adopters must pay their Labs4rescue adoption fee prior to the rescue shipping their dog.

Residents of Massachusetts or New Hampshire are required to pay an additional $125 fee, which defrays the cost of their state's mandatory 48 hour isolation and examination by a licensed veterinarian.
