I’m a little dog from Indonesia, rescued just in time from a truck on its way to a slaughterhouse for the dog meat trade. I was saved, treated, then brought to Canada by Humane Society International / Canada.

I’m looking for an adoptive family that can continue to make me progress and discover life!

I’m a pretty 24lbs female who is about 2 years old.

I have experienced severe trauma in my life. Captured, forcibly muzzled with a rope, tied in a bag with no way to move, and crammed into a truck with over 50 other dogs, I’ve only known violence and horror. Some humans have been cruel to me, and I remain fearful of humans in general. So I’m looking for a home with a very supportive family that will help me rebuild my trust in people, especially strangers. I’m already making nice progress at HSI/Canada’s Animal Rehabilitation Centre and everyday, I show how resilient I am.

I also have a lot to learn about life in a home! I’m now housebroken in my pen; I know my name and how to play with toys. Can you believe that this is all new to me! I’m also learning to wear my claws out on a rough board! I’ll need a patient family who will be able to show me lots of other things like leash walking (I was never taught that in my previous life), recall, or how to cooperate during a vet examen. Do you have the necessary experience and patience to help me with all this and more?

So I’m looking for a patient, gentle and calm family that will give me time to come out of my shell and learn!

At the centre, I have a lady dog friend my size. I’m selective so a good introduction will be a must for me to live with another dog. No one knows if I’ve ever lived with a cat, so my family will need to be very experienced and willing to get professional help if needed.

I can live with children over 12, as I’m still afraid of sudden movements or visitors, so small humans are not ideal for me.

I kind of like to explore, so a fenced yard is highly recommended, because if I’m allowed to wander, I may not come back, and I’ll be afraid of people trying to find me.

I have medium energy, but I need enough stimulation and activities every day to be fulfilled. I’m looking for someone who’ll help me expend my energy, even if leash walking is not possible in the beginning. I love toys that allow me to eat my meals while walking around the house, like the Kong Wobbler!

I’m not very vocal, so life in a condo or apartment would be possible.

I’m vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and spayed. I have a sensitive stomach, so my family must be willing to pay attention to my diet.

Je suis une petite chienne de l'Indonésie, rescapée juste à temps d'un camion en route vers un abattoir pour le commerce de la viande de chien. J'ai été sauvée, soignée, puis amenée au Canada par Humane Society International / Canada.

Je cherche une famille adoptive qui pourra continuer de me faire progresser et découvrir la vie!

Je suis une jolie femelle qui pèse environ 11 kg qui est âgé d'environ 2 ans.
J'ai vécu de graves traumatismes dans ma vie. Capturée, muselée de force avec une corde, attachée dans un sac sans pouvoir bouger, entassée dans un camion avec plus de 50 autres chiens, j'ai connu l'horreur.
Certains humains ont été cruels envers moi et je demeure craintive envers eux. Je cherche donc un foyer très compréhensif qui m'aidera à rebâtir ma confiance envers les gens, surtout les étrangers. Je fais déjà de beaux progrès au Centre de réhabilitation pour animaux de HSI / Canada et chaque jour, je démontre ma grande résilience.

J'ai aussi beaucoup à apprendre sur la vie dans une maison ! Je suis maintenant propre dans mon enclos, je connais mon nom et comment jouer avec des jouets. Pouvez-vous croire que tout ça est nouveau pour moi!
J'apprends à user mes griffes sur une planche rugueuse également! Je devrai avoir une famille patiente qui saura me montrer plein d'autres choses comme la marche en laisse (je n'ai pas connu cela dans mon ancienne vie), le rappel ou comment coopérer à un examen vétérinaire. Avez-vous l'expérience et la patience nécessaire pour m'aider avec tout ça et plus encore?

Je cherche donc une famille douce et calme qui saura me donner du temps pour sortir de ma coquille et apprendre!

Au centre, j'ai une amie chien de ma taille. Je suis sélective et des présentations seront nécessaires pour vivre avec un autre chien. La cohabitation avec un chat est inconnue, donc la famille devrait être très expérimentée et prête à obtenir de l'aide professionnelle au besoin.

Je peux vivre avec des enfants de plus de 12 ans, car je suis encore craintive des mouvements brusques ou des visiteurs, donc les petits humains ne sont pas idéaux pour moi.

J'ai une tendance à vouloir explorer, donc une cour clôturée est fortement recommandée, car si on me laisse me balader, il est possible que je ne revienne jamais et j'aurai peur des gens qui tenteront de me retrouver.

J'ai un niveau d'énergie moyen, mais j'ai besoin d'assez de stimulations et d'activités par jour pour être épanouie. Je cherche quelqu'un qui va pouvoir dépenser mon énergie adéquatement, même si la marche en laisse ne sera pas possible au début. J'adore les jouets comme le kong wobbler pour manger mes repas en marchant dans la maison!

Je suis peu vocale, donc la vie en condo/appartement serait possible.

Je suis vaccinée, micropucée, vermifugée et stérilisée. Mon estomac est sensible, donc ma famille doit être prête à faire attention à ma diète.
