Chloe Australian Shepherd Mix Minneapolis, MN

Gentle, sweet Chloe is a 9-year-old Australian Shepherd mix who is as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside. Happy by nature, she is over the moon when taking her people for a stroll around the neighborhood. She adores riding in the car for a cruise or playtime in the backyard. Currently 50 lbs, she needs a healthy, slow weight loss plan involving dedicated daily exercise and great nutrition to hit her target weight of around 35 lbs.

Chloe enjoys the company and adoration of older kids (see pic!), soaking up their affection and happy to help with homework. She can live with another undemanding dog who is a comfortable companion and doesn’t push for interaction. Her undemanding personality makes her excellent company. We suspect she would ignore cats if they return the favor. She is trustworthy loose in the house and will settle quietly in a crate if asked.

The ideal home for Chloe is passionate about a healthy lifestyle and will ensure she gets at least a couple of walks daily. She currently trots along for 1.5 miles at a stretch and would happily keep going. Backyard play is not enough to achieve her goal of restoring physical health, but we know she would be thrilled to sniff around a fenced yard at her own pace if her family has a fence. Her diet needs to be carefully monitored and we’re introducing her to healthy snacks like fruits and vegetables to keep her satisfied and calories low.

To address a slightly elevated liver value, Chloe is on Denamarin, a daily prescription liver supplement. We suspect she has low vision and probably sees mostly shapes instead of crisp images. She would tell you she's feeling great and ask when her next walk is scheduled!

Chloe is an absolute gem who will immediately boost the happiness factor in her new home. She can’t wait to meet her new family!

As a foster-based rescue, we do not have a central facility to visit. Meet and greets with specific dogs are arranged once your adoption application (not an inquiry through Petfinder) has been received, processed, and approved. We are located in Minnesota and adopt to an area 400 miles from Minneapolis/St. Paul.

Chloe's adoption fee is $250 + MN sales tax. She is spayed, microchipped and up to date on age-appropriate vaccines.
