Meet Chiso
Chiso is a 4-5 month old, male husky mix. (as of 4/6/25)
This sweet little guy was dumped at a Houston park, underweight and scared.
Chiso quickly warmed up to his foster mom and foster dog brothers. He is dog and kid friendly and really loves playing rambunctiously with his dog friends.
However, he has proven to be pretty calm around his senior dog friends. Chiso is a very smart little guy. He knows his sit and stay commands and is crate and potty trained.
He knows how to use a dog door but also does a good job alerting you that he wants out. Chiso sleeps in his crate at night but has done well sleeping on his foster grandma's bed (she spoils him).
He has a stubborn streak but listens very well with treat incentives. He seems to have some lab like qualties: he points at and stalks birds, puts his head in the shower every chance he gets, and has webbed paws.
He enjoys relaxing and exploring in the backyard. Chiso is a good car rider and does not show signs of car sickness. He also enjoys playing fetch, tug, and nibbling on his toys.
Chiso is very sweet and wants a cuddle or pet when he first wakes or gets out of his crate.
Some things Chiso is working on:
[ ] Resource guarding of his food- he has come a very long way with this using positive reinforcement. Given more time and training he should drop his resource guarding quickly
[ ] People walking up to the car (like in drive thru lines) - He is improving on this with practice and positive reinforcement. He will bark and raise the fur on his back.
[ ] Strangers invading his space before he decides he is safe - Chiso was scared of people his first few days but is getting much better at meeting new people. It's best to have anyone new offer him treats before trying to pet or pick him up. He is almost cured of this!
[ ] Mouthing/teething- he is a puppy and likes to chew. His permanent teeth are coming in. Mouthing behavior is easily redirected to toys.
He is located in Houston, TX and can be transported to most states for a $300 fee.
