Meet CHILI

As we have “preached” over and over again, heartworm disease is so easy to prevent and so tough, expensive, and time consuming to treat. And still, here we are again with another “shelter dog” whose new lease on life began when she found herself on the euthanasia list because the shelters are overrun with dogs and underfunded for medical care. To make matters worse, we didn’t find out Chili was heartworm positive til after she had spent 6 weeks in the shelter raising the litter of puppies she was dumped with. Although a little shy at first, she is a happy go lucky gal who loves the company of other dogs, is very docile with kids, is an amazing snuggler, and is an excellent leash walking companion and traveling co-pilot. She is crate trained and housebroken, very fast and agile in her movements and very responsive to training as she aims to please!! Fortunately for Chili, it appears we caught her heartworm disease early in that she “tested positive” but did not have any Xray changes, bloodwork changes, or clinical signs suggesting she was “sick” with the disease ... however we still treated her with the staged treatment recommendations of the American Heartworm Society. Chili is eager to find a home of her own. Vet reference required. Approx 3-4yr old, FS, Australian Cattledog/Heeler mix, 45lbs

Adoption fee $300

Any vaccinations/boosters due after adoption is finalized will be the new owner's responsibility. All animals are current at time of adoption but in some cases a booster series is required or a vaccine cannot be given due to age and cannot be completed prior to adoption

Our adoptable animals come to us from various sources, the most common being from an animal shelter who is unable to handle their physical or mental needs in the shelter setting but believe with the appropriate care, they can become adoptable.
