Bio: Childers has kind of a sad story that we are hoping we can help turn into a story of happiness and redemption. Childers was purchased as a puppy from a local Amish breeder and then proceeded to be bounced around to three more homes. None of which were aware at the time, that he was deaf. Luckily the last family he landed with, reached out to us to help place him in a home where he can finally find his forever people. Childers is a good boy and he is hoping to find someone who isn’t afraid to work with a deaf dog and he’s here to show you that it’s not as scary as it seems. Just requires some patience and good snacks! He already knows how to sit and loves to work for food. Like most terrier breeds, this boy will need a home who will help keep him mentally and physically tired. Lots of adventures and brain games. This portable companion would love to be included on hiking adventures and walks around town. His previous home reported that he was house trained and crate trained and he lived with two other larger (than him) dogs. He has also been fine with cats. Childers loves to meet new people and views everyone as a friend, seeing his little nub wagging like crazy is not a rare sight that’s for sure! If someone is looking for a dog to dive into dog sports with, we feels as if he would make a good dog to fit that bill.
