CHICO Saluki Mix North Hollywood, CA

Meet Chico, the 11-month old wonder who lives with a healed broken jaw. He is so phenomenal in that he doesn't know he is so different from other puppies his age, and he doesn't let anything slow him down.
We found Chico in Alamos, Mexico hiding in some bushes from a couple of dogs that had attacked him. He is currently in Alamos being taken care of by fosters but they can't keep him as they have three dogs already and four is just too many for them to handle. He has had all his vaccinations and will be getting a passport before he travels to the states.
At some point in his early age, we speculate that he was kicked by an animal or a human and that impact broke his jaw. His bottom jaw sticks out and to the left of his top jaw. But that doesn't stop Chico from playing fetch with a tennis ball, or eating a hard dog cookie. It may take him a little longer to do ordinary things, but he eventually gets the job done like it's no big deal.
It is quite evident that Chico was taken very good care of by someone while his jaw healed. He weighs about 40 pounds, and is housebroken. He leads fairly well on a leash (unless he spies a cricket or bird that he would love to meet), loves everyone he comes into contact with, and he loves to be loved and in close contact with his family. If he thinks he has not had his share of loving, he maneuvers around so you are sure to see him. He will even go so far as to grab your leg with his leg, or try to give you a little love nibble. Another tribute to the excellent upbringing he obviously had.
He has a slight runny nose which is a result of the injury he received - it doesn't bother him or impede his life at all. Apart from these issues he's super healthy and fit. He has had all his vaccinations and is neutered and is looking forward to meeting his forever family.
While it is tough to tell his lineage, we believe he has Saluki, with a helping of Perro de Alamos - he is a lovely looking dog. We are looking for a loving home for this special boy.
His fosters are willing to drive him from Alamos to Arizona, Southern Utah or Wyoming.
