Meet Chickie
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.ADOPTION PENDING5/21 Update from Foster mom: She is just doing so well! A real sweetheart of a little Beagle - very calm, very sweet & frisky, has still never barked. She gets along perfectly with my beagle and with all the dogs in my building/elevator. Still skittish to loud noises. Straight A's now on house breaking. Zero accidents!Chickie is as quiet as a church mouse - and so sweet! She loves to be paid attention to and her happy tail wags a lot. She is friendly with everyone she meets on her walks, but gets scared by traffic, cars and loud street noises. Chicky was a little lost stray in rural Alabama, so it is impressive how well she has adjusted to apartment life, especially riding in elevators. Her potty training is not yet perfect but she is definitely improving and she can hold it overnight 9pm - 7am. Currently she gets to walk about every 4 hours. At night she sleeps in a doggy bed or just on the floor near her foster brother who is 13. We think she'd be playful with a younger dog. When foster mom is away, Chickie is not crated and video cam monitoring shows that she is behaving. Chickie Is heartworm positive and will be scheduled for her treatment mid-May. We expect she will do well and could go on sleepover provided the post treatment activity restriction and medication schedule could be observed.
