Meet Chiquita – A Girl with a Heart Full of Love

This sweet, young mama has had a tough start, but her story is one of hope and resilience. Chiquita was rescued from the side of the road, where she had been abandoned and left to fend for herself and her puppies. While another rescue stepped in to care for her babies, Chiquita was heartbreakingly left behind—until we came along to give her the second chance she so deeply deserves.

Despite it all, Chiquita is an absolute sweetheart. She’s incredibly loving, kind, and full of affection. She adores people of all ages and is especially gentle with children. She’s also good with other dogs—though she’s still working through some fear, particularly when she hears barking. She may freeze on walks if she’s overwhelmed, but with patience and reassurance, she’s already making progress and building confidence.

In her foster home, Chiquita is thriving. She responds to her name, comes when called, and allows her food to be taken without any fuss. She’s respectful of boundaries and has learned to stay off the furniture. She’s also getting more comfortable with friends and neighbors—showing her trusting, curious spirit day by day.
