Meet CHEVY!
CHEVY has not had the best start to his young 2 year old life.
He was found by a Good Sam as a stray and was kept. He slept in the house with his person and had a strong connection for a year. He got frightened on the 4th of July and wound up at the shelter. His owner claimed him the very next day, but he was also moving back home and the housing complex would not allow CHEVY because of breed restrictions. CHEVY was surrendered to the shelter on the 5th of July. He was adopted quickly to a home with a smaller dog. They did well at the shelter for an on-leash introduction and in the yard for an off-leash introduction. Poor CHEVY was returned because the adopter did not follow instructions and allowed the small dog to push CHEVY until he reacted. No injuries were noted.
After 5 months without a home, CHEVY is overwhelmed by life in the shelter. He is very depressed in his kennel. Even if he knows you, he will sit in the back of his kennel and hardly raise his head.
He can be a little shy until he gets to know you, but does enjoy sitting in you lap. He is still learning leash manners, but does great on group walks. CHEVY also enjoys doggy play groups and they have helped him build up his confidence.
