She’d been labeled a behavioral risk after an altercation with another dog — the details were unclear, and her previous owner was bitten trying to break it up. Chevy’s life was on the line. But when we met her, we didn’t see an aggressive dog. We saw fear, confusion, and a soul that had simply been failed by too many people.<br/><br/>And we made her a promise: we would give her as long as she needed.<br/><br/>So we took things slow. We gave her space, respect, and time. With the help of behavior experts at Humarock Shepherds and our move into 275 Oak Street (thank you CJ Shaughnessy Crane Service!), we created a safe place for Chevy to decompress, heal, and begin again.<br/><br/>Today, Chevy is a different dog.<br/>She is affectionate, goofy, and forms beautiful bonds with people she trusts. She still has some things to work through — she can be wary of strangers and isn’t a fit for high-value treats like bones or bully sticks.
