Chestnut Yorkshire Terrier Belleville, NJ

Meet Chestnut. This sweet girl is a six-year-old and 10-pound Yorkie. She was surrendered as a purebred, but we aren’t absolutely sure. She was surrendered by her owner after a vet visit showed that she needed to be on heart medication. They wanted to euthanize her, but our vet called us and of course, we took her. She is a perfect little girl. Happy and sweet, Chestnut has loved everyone she’s met. She walks well on a leash, and is potty trained. She’s crate trained as well. She loves sitting on your lap and is a very quiet, perfect girl. She is currently on the normal regimen of heart meds. But has not had an echocardiogram or any testing other than an X-ray after the vet heard a heart murmur and the X-rays showed an enlarged heart. She did have blood work as well as a dental cleaning after we got her.

We put a lot of time and energy into processing our adoptions to find our babies the best fit home for them and you. Please do not submit an application if you are not serious about adopting Chestnut.

Our adoption fee is $525. This includes their spay/neuter surgery, full (age appropriate) vaccinations, microchip insertion and registration, deworming, heartworm testing and prevention, flea and tick prevention and travel expenses.

All of our dogs are rescued from local shelters and the general public. Each dog is then placed in a foster home where he/she is kept for quarantine, to ensure if the dog gets sick it can receive proper treatment. We have foster homes in the NJ/NY area waiting to receive their fosters. Once an animal has received an application or there's an adopter interested, we make arrangements for transport. If a dog is already in foster care in NYC/NJ, an adopter will be put in touch with the foster home AFTER an application is being processed.
