Cherokee's Story
Sweet CHEROKEE was rescued from the shelter by Marley's Mutts Rescue (Tehachapi, CA). This very special girl can be adopted thru them. See marleysmutts.org for adoption information and more about this wonderful pup.

CHEROKEE is a special girl. Did she have a loving home in the past? Her demeanor suggests so. But rumor has it she was living with a pack of dogs that followed a homeless man, until he left them all behind. She lived a life on the streets before being picked up as a stray and taken to the shelter. Given this background, she's had a lot of life experiences and takes life calmly. She has the most expressive eyes, and you can imagine she has alot of stories to tell if you just listen. She can be a bit reserved when first meeting you, but soon blossoms into the sweetest, most affectionate girl. She relishes the family life and seems to enjoy the company of kids. She loves other dogs and having canine friends, and will chase a ball if you give her a chance :)

Cherokee is about 7 yrs old and 70lbs. She went on several Doggie Days Out while at the shelter. Here's what people said about her: She is good on leash and likes to greet other dogs. Cherokee is a calm dog with the most expressive eyes. She is very friendly and will approach you for some affection. Cherokee got to go out on a "Doggie Day Out" where the family found her to be "gentle, playful and sweet". She did great with kids and other dogs. She loved getting pup-cups and chicken and was quick to adjust to new environments. She had good manners and enjoyed riding in the car. She appears to be housetrained
