Meet Chef

???? This is Chef…the dashingly handsome, sweet, butterball pittie that is looking for his spot at your table!
He is available for a foster-to-adopt situation due to his heartworm positive status (more on that later!)

Chef is around 1.5 years old and is full of love! His gorgeous champagne-colored coat is velvety soft and his warm eyes will melt your heart! ????

Things Chef does very well:
? Cuddle! He is an absolute cuddle-monger! When you sit down…you WILL have a Chef in your lap!
? Go potty outside. Fully house broken!
? Play with other dogs!
? Play with toys!
?????Go for walks/runs
??????? Be near his people
? Stay quietly in his crate like a good boy whenever needed
?? Accept correction. Chef is very food motivated, and very eager to please. He takes it to heart when he’s reprimanded and will try to do better.

Things Chef needs to work on:
?? Chef loves other dogs, but he is a SOLID boy and likes to rough-house! If your home has a dog(s) you’ll want to be sure they can handle his play style.
??Not being mischievous when he’s bored! Chef is such a good boy but he is not a couch potato, he needs regular physical and mental stimulation to keep him happy and well behaved!
??Staying calm and controlling his excitement. Chef is a VERY happy dog…he’s so happy that he wants to jump up and hug/kiss/bop you with his nose randomly throughout the day and when you’re walking along side him. It’s actually kind of cute sometimes but he does need to be trained out of these habits.
? Jumping the fence to get near his people…! He can easily scale a 4ft chain link fence, and when he does he hasn’t shown any signs of wanting to run away or bolt…he simply wants to be by you without barriers. ?

? Chef should not go to a home with cats. He doesn’t go after them but he will bark and be agitated by them.
? Chef cannot go to a home with a small dog, he’s just too clumsy and playful for that to be safe.
? Chef is good with children, but he loves them too much to safely live with young ones. He will surely knock them right down during his zoomies and in his attempts to get kisses.
?? Chef does not require a fenced in yard IF you have a solid plan for potty breaks, but if you do have a fenced in yard it will have to be at least 6ft tall in order to be safe for Chef.

?? Chef is heartworm positive. If you’re unfamiliar with heartworm please do a bit of research on these parasites to get a better understanding of what he’s dealing with.
?? Chef is currently undergoing treatment for his heartworms and should be free and clear within a month or so. Pet Tales Rescue will pay ALL his medical expenses until he is free and clear of his heartworm; this is the reason we are offering a foster-to-adopt situation for Chef—so that we can complete his treatment before making the adoption official. This offers a family a unique chance to experience fostering and to ensure Chef is the right fit for their home!

?? Chef is neutered, microchipped, and UTD on vaccines. If you are interested in adopting this pet, please head to www.pettalesrescue.com and fill out an application ?? His adoption fee is $250.00 payable in cash, debit or credit
