Cheetah is a little girl and weighs around 5 lbs. Her birthday was January, 23, 2023. Mom and siblings were cosigned to a dog breeder auction and Leia's Hope secured their freedom. Mom is a 15 lb shih tzu with the best personality!

Cheetah is a sweet girl that is a little shyer than her siblings. She likes to play with her siblings and she likes toys that are bigger than her! She enjoys running around the yard and exploring. Of all the siblings her hair has the most red. She is a momma's girl and likes to stick close to her. She is a little more insecure and would benefit the most with a small, friendly and confident dog in her next home.

We like our puppies to be placed in homes where they will get lots of play and socialization. So a family with kids, another playful smaller dog, or someone who is social and can take their dog to many places is ideal. Puppies born in a puppy mill lost out on the critical socialization period (3 -4 weeks) and they need to play catch up to help them be secure and well adjusted adult dogs.

Cheetah's adoption fee is $415. She is microchipped and received the age appropriate vaccines (subsequent vaccines are at the adopter's expense). She is not spayed and a spay contract is required. The spay is covered by Leia's Hope if using our vet. Visit leiashope.org for our process.

WE DO ADOPT OUT OF THE AREA, HOWEVER, WE DO NOT SHIP NOR ARRANGE TRANSPORTS. YOU WILL HAVE TO COME TO DECATUR, IL TO MEET THE DOG. IF FLYING, DOGS MUST FLY IN THE CABIN AND THE EXPENSE OF THE HEALTH CERTIFICATE IS ON THE ADOPTER.

THE APPLICATION MUST BE COMPLETED AND SUBMITTED BEFORE WE CAN START THE PROCESS.

IT CAN TAKE AT LEAST 7 DAYS TO PROCESS AN APPLICATION SOMETIMES LONGER DEPENDING ON VOLUNTEER AVAILABILITY AND NUMBER OF APPLICATIONS RECEIVED SO PLEASE BE PATIENT AS WE ARE VOLUNTEERS WITH FAMILIES AND FULL TIME JOBS AND DOGS OF OUR OWN TO CARE FOR.

IF INTERESTED IN A PUPPY (UNDER 9 MONTHS): YOU MUST HAVE A FLEXIBLE WORK SCHEDULE OR SOMEONE HOME ALL DAY. PUPPIES NEED TO BE LET OUT TO POTTY OFTEN, THEY NEED SOCIALIZATION AND BONDING AND NEED TRAINING (HOUSETRAINING AND BEHAVIORAL TRAINING). IF YOU WORK LONG HOURS, HAVE A BUSY SOCIAL SCHEDULE OR NOT FINANCIALLY SECURE THEN A PUPPY IS NOT FOR YOU.
