CHAZ's Story

Chaz is an 8-year-old, 68-pound grey Pittie mix who has lived through more than his share of hardship. Someone in his past cut off his ears to make him look intimidating, but in reality, Chaz is nothing but a soft, loving dog with a gentle heart. He’s a senior, but you’d never know it watching him chase after a tennis ball. He still has plenty of energy and a playful streak that shines through the moment you step outside with him. Chaz knows his basic commands, walks well on leash, and thrives on human connection. He’s eager to please and even more eager to be loved. He’s shown no negative reactions to other dogs and may be dog friendly with proper introductions. Mostly, Chaz just wants to feel safe, understood, and valued for who he is. Senior dogs like Chaz often wait the longest for homes. But the love they give is deep, steady, and full of gratitude. Chaz is ready to share that love with someone who sees past the scars and recognizes the loyal companion he’s always been. He is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and waiting for a family to finally choose him. Chaz spent time in a foster home and was the most well behaved boy! Here is a note from his foster: Chaz is incredibly cuddly and sweet. He always wants to be in my company, even if we are just laying on the couch. He wasn't allowed on the couch at first, but he is so smart and figured out how to get comfortable up there despite the obstacle I set up. He loves chasing a tennis ball, but doesn't care too much about other toys. He is very treat/food motivated! He does a little happy march when he's waiting for me to put his food bowl down. Despite his age, he loves going on a long walk and is well mannered on a leash. He is excited to see people and dogs, though I haven't tried introducing him to other dogs, but I think he would love to play with them based on his tail wagging and gentle nature. He is perfect for someone seeking a cuddly companion! Chaz's adoption fee has been paid for with a donation from Anna Kay
