Meet Chase! He is a 13 week old puppy brought to the GSR as an owner surrender due to allergies. He has been at his foster family’s house for the past month and adjusting nicely and is ready for his forever home. Chase is a sweet and loving puppy that thinks your lap is your home. While he looks like an adorable puppy there are things you need to know before considering him for your furever family. Chase will need to go to a GS knowledgeable home. He is showing signs of food guarding and is being fed by hand until he learns that he is safe and will always be fed. This also makes him food motivated and very trainable. He knows sit and paw and is working on his other manners. He will need puppy training classes to be the best boy that he can be. He is working on crate training- he has to sleep in your room in his crate unless you want to hear him scream and cry for the better part of the night. Good news- he can make it a full night without accidents and a few hours throughout the day. He is wonderful on a leash and takes great walks but at home he is still very mouthy, a chewer and can find himself in some trouble like a typical puppy. He is very dominate and won’t back down to his 7 year old foster brother and sister German shepherds. He doesn’t care that they are over 70 lbs- he wants to win! He is also still working on house training- he still has a few accidents in the house per day but will now sit by the back door to signal he needs to go out.
