Meet Chase

Meet Chase,
Chase is a 8 to 9 year old labrador mix that weighs around 55 pounds. Chase is a lovely senior (and he does not act his age) he absolutely loves playing with people and is learning to play with toys, he is doing great with my dog, but has had some issues at the dog park (explained in more detail below) when I first found a Chase he was a pretty active boy‘s but after six months of treatment, he is a bit more on the calmer side. He loves our walks and he is well leash trained, and knows heel, sit and Stay. He's a real lovely boy and a real charmer he attracts anyone who meets him.

Chase's Story.
I found Chase on the side of the street in Loiza a small townon the beach in Puerto Rico, He was living under a car in the Hot sun. When I first saw him I couldn't believe my eyes (as you can see in the photos) Chase was skin and bones and even the skin he had on looked really bad, of course I couldn't leave him there so off we went to he vet. Over the next few months chase had and was treated for Sarcoptic Mange, Eaurliquia, Tvt, Heartwarm and a bunch of other infections but thankfully those are in his passed, as the vet said this was just his past catching up with him. It's been 3 weeks since chase got neutered and he is now finally ready for adoption. Although there are still a few behavioral issues that I am working on I am confident that we can find a family that would be willing to work on it, and continue the training that I have started. The two most important training that Chase will need is he does Love licking people, and we are trying to slowly teach him boundaries around that. And the second is that he has gotten into some altercations with other dogs at the park. because Chase has grown up in the street and lived there for so long in his head he has a boundary that if your dog passes he might feel the need to correct them because in his head he might be fighting for his life. But in my experience this is easy to turn around when showing a bit of discipline and teaching them that they are safe and they can trust you. anyone who is interested I would be able to give full guidance on how to continue the training that I have already started to eliminate these issues.
Even though Chase did have issues with dogs at the dog park, I believe that he would do best in a home with a dog that is of course trained, he absolutely adores my dog, and has learned so much from her. I am continuing to take Chase to the dog park so that we can challenge him and teach him right from wrong. what I love most about Chase is his demeanor, I have never seen a dog walk into the vets office with their tail wagging and without a single fear in the world. He greets me each time I come home with the happiest face in the world. and absolutely shows the appreciation for being rescued, I hope I can pass that over to someone who would be lucky to give this boy the amazing life he deserves.
