Charlotte is a fun, happy 1 1/2-year-old doggo looking for a forever family that can provide her with ample love, attention, and structure. This smiley girl is very silly and will endlessly entertain her new family with antics.
Charlotte enjoys playing with other dogs and even made friends with the adult cats and foster kittens in her current home! She loves both dog and cat toys and can entertain herself for hours throwing them around. She is very easily excited when she sees other dogs walk by and will show off her amazing vertical leaps when she just cannot contain it anymore! Charlotte still has some puppy energy and appreciates time each day dedicated to walks, runs around a (fully fenced) yard, and/or playing. Once that energy is burned off though, Charlotte is happy to lounge around in the sunshine or on the couch for a long nap. She is a great work from home partner to her foster mom!
Like most dogs, Charlotte has a few behavior quirks that require some continued training. As a Great Pyraneses, Husky, and Shepherd mix, she is a strong-willed and wily pup - hallmarks of all three of her breed mixes. Her ideal adopter will have experience training smart dogs. Charlotte is also very attached to her humans and exhibits mild signs of separation anxiety. She will do best in a home that does not have shared walls (no apartments) where she isn't left home alone for long stretches. She would not do well in a crate for an 8-10 hour workday and would definitely get bored and into mischief outside her crate. Charlotte also needs continued help with leash manners to be successful on walks and out in public. At 80lbs, she can be a handful when she sees other dogs and gets excited! She walks well on a harness, but her sled dog heritage sometimes kicks in and she can't help but pull you along :)
Charlotte is incredibly loving and sweet. Truly a gentle giant! She will make a lovely addition to a home willing to accept her and love her forever.
Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, heartworm/Lyme test, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, & Bordetella), HW and flea/tick preventative, and microchip implant and registration. Adoption fees INCLUDE a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%.
There is no guarantee of age and breed as a rescue animal's history is unknown. All ages and breeds are best guess.
Due to post-adoption services provided, we prefer to adopt within a 90-mile radius of Minneapolis; however, we will consider up to 250 miles if the adopter is willing to drive to cities as needed.
