Charlie Great Pyrenees Mix Palatine, IL

It’s a new year and a second chance for Charlie!
 
Charlie is an 18-month-old, 70-pound Great Pyrenees mix. He was minding his own business in rural Arkansas, just supervising some cows and being the neighborhood social butterfly, when one of the neighbors decided he wasn’t such a big fan of this sweet boy. So, to keep him safe, the other neighbors brought him to a shelter, and eventually he made his way to SCCR. 
 
This gentle giant is as wonderful as they come. He is housebroken, does well when left alone (even without a crate), doesn’t take things that aren’t his, does great on walks, loves his furry foster sibling, and most of all – loves to be around his people. He’s a playful fella who absolutely LOVES the outdoors (a fenced yard would be great). Do you like camping? Hiking? Parks? He’s your guy. (Although the car ride to get there might make him a little anxious!)
 
Charlie is a real charmer – friendly to everyone he meets – even all of the birds and squirrels in the backyard. He’s never met any cats or kids, but his calm and protective nature makes us think he’d do just fine with slow and proper intros. We also have it on good authority that this boy gives the world’s best kisses – usually following a nice belly rub session.
