Meet CHARLIE!

MEET CHARLIE!
This handsome little dude is named Charlie! Charlie is a small terrier mix (or at least that's our best guess). While he looks like a puppy and probably always will, he is likely around middle-aged. Charlie was found as a stray in Philadelphia and bounced around a bit while folks looked for his former owners (with no luck) until he found a dedicated foster home and joined the City of Elderly Love rescue! Charlie's now ready to find a true forever home where he can lay down roots and never have to worry about being homeless again.

Charlie is a boisterous little guy who loves to be close to
"his people", especially snuggling on the couch. We're not entirely sure what his history was like but Charlie does take a bit of time warming up to new people. Once you're "his people", you'll be his very best friend but he'll need some time to get there. He'll need some patience and we think he'd be happiest in a home in the suburbs, away from the hustle and bustle of the city which may contribute to some of his anxiousness around new people. He can't wait to find the right person/family who will help him continue to blossom into the confident and happy guy we know he can be!

He does great on walks and on his leash, the only time he pulls is when he sees another dog he'd like to introduce himself to. Charlie isn't currently living with other dogs but has been friendly with other pups while cruising the neighborhood on walks. Charlie is currently living with cats and likes to chase them a bit too much so we think he'd do best in a home without them so he doesn't stress them out. He's working on his housebreaking skills now that he's finally found a foster home and settling into a routine. His future family may just need to help him through an adjustment period while he settles into their schedule. He is also working on crate training!

Charlie does, however, "guard" items he considers high-value. He doesn't consider his food bowls or toys as high-value, but may guard "people food" left out for him to sneak off the coffee table. He will growl and give warning snaps if he doesn't want you to take these items away. For this reason, he'd do best in a home without children. His future family should plan on being patient and to continue working on this with Charlie.

Charlie is available for adoption through City of Elderly Love. He is vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. Interested in adopting him? Visit www.cityofelderlylove.org to complete an online adoption questionnaire or email us at info@cityofelderlylove.org!
