Tall, Dark and Handsome. Charlie will charm you with is calm, easy-going personality and his gentle, affectionate ways.

Charlie, 4years & 60 lbs German Shephard mix, he has great house manners, walks well on leash and doesn't have a high prey drive. He's house-broken, great in the car, crate-trained, non-reactive when passing other dogs on walks, and does not chew on anything he shouldn't. He knows basic commands such as "Sit" and comes when called. He's happy, easy-going, low-key, affectionate, calm and quiet.

If you're looking for an easy transition into your lifestyle, Charlie is ready to walk whenever you want to--he loves going on walks. He's happy to relax in the AC with you, and hang out while work. Charlie is affectionate without being demanding. So far, he hasn't shown interest in playing with toys or chewing bones, but that may change--he's just happy to hang out with you. He's great meeting all people: gentle, not jumpy.

Currently, he's been going to work with the foster, where there is a fenced yard, and he just watches and wags while people pass-by on the downtown sidewalks. Charlie is very calm and quiet; he's great with all the other employees in the office.

He's been on 30-minute walks around downtown Leesburg, and loves it. Charlie is naturally curious about his surroundings, good with passing people, bicycles and other dogs, and doesn’t startle at loud noises around town. He walks well on the leash.

How to Adopt
1) To help us save as many dogs as possible, we ask that you help us work efficiently:

2) Please be within a 45 Minute drive of Leesburg, VA. If you are outside of this range, we apologize; we simply are not able to complete our adoption process if you are further.

3) Download the application from the "How to Adopt" page on SaveTheTails.org, fill in completely, save it as PDF, and email it to adopt@savethetails.org. We apologize, but are short on time. Please only reach out to us with a completed application. Do check your spam folder if you do not see a reply from us.

4) Call your current/ previous vet giving us authorization to do brief vet check.

5) If your application appears to be a good match for the dog, we will schedule a meet and greet and a home check. Please include your name and phone number on your application!
