This dog is being fostered with New Hope Dog Rescue (Saskatoon). If you are interested in adopting please fill out an Adoption Application. Meet and greets are by appointment only and done so after an adoption application has been submitted. A successful applications will be contacted by the foster home to discuss further. We are volunteer run so please be patient.

My name is Charlie. I am 10 months old and came to my foster home as a very scared and unsocialized puppy. Because of patience and positive reinforcement, I have come to learn and love: going for walks, playing with other dogs, fetching and playing tug and just running around in back yard. In fact, a fenced yard is ideal for me as I need to run and fetch but I’m not ready for off leash areas.

I need a home that has another well rounded dog. Someone who’s home often and has an active dog would help me flourish!

I know to go to bathroom outside and when told it’s night time I will go to my kennel. I have learnt certain commands which I usually listen. Sometime I get distracted but we practice them every day and hopefully my new home will continue teaching me.

I am pretty good with children as long as they just play tug and throw a ball but I will not let them pet me just yet. As a puppy I have a few bad habits I’m trying to break such as chewing trees, shoes, people’s clothes and digging. I am working on this with foster mom but again only with positive reinforcement. Any other way I become very anxious, cower and very scared.

I have not had a lot of practice with car rides so that is something my forever home will have to work on.

It does take me awhile to warm up and trust other humans who come to visit but eventually I will go smell them and relax.

I am hoping and needing a family who will continue to help me grow in a positive way. Someone who is patient and never gives up on me as I will continue to need guidance, understanding and lots of love to grow into a healthy happy trustworthy dog who will give back to my new forever home love and lots of kisses.

Charlie has been neutered, microchipped, dewormed, current on age appropriate vaccines and has received a health check from a vet. adoption fee is $295.
