DOG'S DESCRIPTION
Charlie is a gorgeous boy who agrees with the saying 'Love is Blind'. He may have limited sight but he doesn't let that stop him from loving everyone. Charlie is a gentle giant who is extremely sweet and affectionate, but also is loves to play. He gets along beautifully with both dogs and people. He loves belly rubs and hugs and knows exactly how to live life to the fullest. Charlie is hoping that someone will see past his adorably crossed eyes and fall in love with his handsome looks and even more beautiful personality!!!
Foster update: Charlie can definitely see light and movement, so he gets around just fine once he figures out the layout of the house or yard. He even runs and manages steps surprisingly well. His favorite activities are playing with other big dogs, cuddling with his human or dog friend, and chewing on toys. He needs a home with a fenced back yard to explore, a canine friend who loves to play, and a loving and patient human. He is nicely house and crate trained, and is learning to walk on lead. He is skittish about loud noises and traffic, but is fine once he gets used to a new sound. Unfortunately, No apartments in the city
Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.
Adoption fees cover basic vetting, spay/neuter surgery, rabies, distemper/parvo vaccinations, treatment for worms, heartworm testing, monthly heartworm prevention and monthly flea/tick prevention (while the animal is in our care), and transport costs from high-kill shelter. Please note that on average, K-9 Lifesavers spend significantly more on each dog than their adoption fee. Adoption fee for HW positive dogs also covers heartworm treatment at our partner vets.
Foster Program: Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.
