Meet Charlie

Charlie! Meet the sweetest little 10 pound terrier mix. We think he is about 5-8 years old although it is so hard to know. This dog has been through so much, he deserves nothing but good from here on out. He was found in a filthy pen next to an abandoned house. The people just left he and two others there to starve. SO grateful they were found and we feel lucky to have Charlie part of the Lucky Day family. He is so so sweet, sleeps snuggled up to his foster mom all night, housebroken, not a barker, good with kids (preferably older kids due to his burns) and is an overall really good little fella! Charlie is active and playful and loves to go on walks, good on a leash, gets along well with other dogs of all sizes but some big dogs intimidate him at first. He will make a good hiker too. Great in the car, loves to go places and explore the world. Charlie loves belly rubs and is very affectionate, great lap dog. Charlie is blind in his right eye but it doesn’t seem to cause him any problems.

Sadly, Charlie was adopted and was taken to the vet for a routine dental. The vet had the heating pads too hot and it gave him 2nd and 3rd degree burns all along his side. AWFUL! The wounds are healing but it will be a good month or two before they turn to scar tissue. It now takes Charlie longer to feel comfortable and to trust but once he does it’s all good. Charlie is an easy dog who just wants to be loved. He is pretty much already well trained and easily trainable, he wants to please. I am looking for a very kind, patient, loving person or family to help Charlie get back to the dog he was before this horrible incident. I know he can get there! I would really like him to have a secure fenced in yard, someone who can spend lots of time with him, someone who will be careful to put sunscreen on his scars and who will love him with all of their heart. I want this next home to be Charlie’s forever home so only apply if you are a very dedicated dog person with lots of love to give. This tiny fella will reward you with all of his heart…
