Charley Treeing Walker Coonhound & Beagle Mix Bedford, VA

Charley was given up to the Bedford Humane Society at three months old, because the lady and her 12 year old daughter could no longer care for her. They took her in at three weeks and the constant care was more than they could handle. She did not know the breed of the Mom and was told the pup was a male so she named her Charley. She does answer to her name. So it is only a guess as to her breed and only going by her looks. Charley is a very active girl and wants a lot of attention. She is responsive to training and loves to play fetch with her toys. She is learning not to jump up on everything. She needs a family that will have patience with her training and give her the attention she craves. She is crate trained but not completely housebroken. She is learning to walk well on the leash without jumping all over. Charley would probably do better with an older child in the family that will be consistent with her training. She is tentative meeting other dogs but would probably be ok with another dog when she feels comfortable. At three months she has not had a lot of socializing. Another dog might be good for her to help keep her active in play. Charley has been dewormed, microchipped, and has been started on heartworm preventive and has received the Distemper-Parvo combination vaccine, and Kennel Cough vaccine.

Since she is not yet spayed, Charley is not available for adoption outside of the counties contiguous to Bedford County.
