Charlee is a very sweet girl, but a bit hyper still. At four years old, she is still kind of a puppy.
As of recently, she has been very rough with her brother, a little Chihuahua named Taco. She is starting to play too hard with her little brother, who is actually older, but much smaller. We are afraid that she will horseplay a little too much and end up severely hurting her brother by accident.
After speaking with the Vet, he suggested that a child-free, single animal, apartment living situation is what Charlee needs.
This way, she is always with the owner, and only goes out when on a leash.
he has never hurt a person, adult or child, but given her breed, the Vet suggested a child-free home to be safe. She is spayed, up to date on her shots, and we need to rehome her soon because the incidents with her little brother, Taco the Chihuahua, are becoming more frequent.
(A little backstory is that about two years ago, she bolted out of the gate(we live on about 1.5 acres) and ran up to our neighbor and her dog. We believe
was trying to play with the small dog or thought it was a squirrel. She did not attack our neighbor, but she did cause some injuries to the little dog. She very blatantly did not attack the neighbor, but we are not sure of what her intentions were with the little dog. After some very high Vet bills to insure the little dog was fine, w
e just can not afford the liability of her getting off of our property without a leash, if she were to get out of the gate again.
We hate to have to choose, but with the activities of the last year and a half, we have to make a decision. That decision has led us to surrender Charlee. W
e do not believe that she is
aggressive dog. She is very, very sweet and loves to be around people. We have had company over, and she gets along just fine with anyone we have had over to our home. We just believe that she plays too hard.)
