Meet Chappie
ID 51624380
Meet Chappie! Hrs sponsored with a reduced adoption fee & training by WOW Wags on Wheels Mobile Groomers.
Chappie is BIG (well over 150 pounds), which means that he is strong even when he doesn’t mean to be, and often doesn’t realize his size. He’s 4-5 years old.
He was sadly surrendered after his owner moved and no one in the family could handle the big guy appropriately. He is reported to be very housetrained, is friendly with new people, knows sit, takes his treats gently for a big boy and loves to play with a ball in the yard. He is a leaner and a lover so we hope that his family has a couch large enough to share!
He loves walks and walks well but, again, he is strong so when he wants to sniff a tree, you will be going with him rather quickly! For this reason, we do want an adopter with large breed or mastiff experience for this handsome fella so he doesn’t end up looking for a new home again.
If Chappie lives with canine siblings he would need a more laid-back pack and doesn’t want to deal with a higher energy pup or a dog who does not understand boundaries. Cats are unknown.
Chappie has a food waiver due to his large size and his intense excitement during meal times so a home without smaller children is needed.
This behavior could mellow out in a home when the dog has a regular meal schedule and is taught boundaries/manners and he’s sponsored with training to help him adjust.
