Chanel's owner passed away and the family did not want her. Through the Bloomfield Animal Control she came to DDR. At first she can be very shy until she knows you then she's your best friend. Chanel loves to sit on your lap and cuddle with you for pets. She really, really likes o be petted and if you stop she reaches her little paw out to tell you to keep going. She will follow you around your home but is not a clingily dog. She is happy taking naps on something soft and cozy by herself.

Chanel loves to go for car rides but she would like a booster seat to really see out at the world going by. She enjoys going for walks and when you put your coat on she will sing to you about how she want to go with you! She make the cutest little squeaky noises when she is happy.

Chanel was diagnosed with a stage IV heart murmur. Her life span may be a bit shorter than the average Chihuahua because of the heart murmur but there are no signs that it is slowing her down. She is on 2 medications and will need to continue being on them for her life time. She eats them with her meals so it's no problem getting her to take them.

Chanel's perfect family would be a home with a couple or single person who is home most of time. She will make a great companion. We say "older kids" because she can nip if she feels threatened and younger kids may not understand her. And she is a tiny thing at only 5 lbs.
