Meet Chance

Meet Chance! He is a 3 year old, 45 pound Anatolian Shepherd mix. He is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative, and microchipped!

Chance is a super happy, playful guy. He knows many commands, including sit, stay, leave it, and down. He is fully house trained, crate trained, and doggy door trained. This handsome boy is a snuggle bug and loves to lounge around on the couch with you in the morning and at night. He is very affectionate and loves being around his people. He currently sleeps on a dog bed at night but would love to snuggle up in the big bed with you if that is your thing! He would be a great companion for a person or family who loves to walk, run, bike, or do anything else outdoors regularly! He has been doing great on leash training and does use a harness when on leash. He loves having a variety of chew toys and stuffed toys to play with to keep him occupied. He also enjoys chasing his fluffy tail every now and again.

He does great with other dogs, big and small. He loves to play with his dog friends but is also very polite to the ones that don’t feel like playing and will walk away and give them space. He’s very gentle with his smaller dog friend but isn’t always aware of his size. In fact, he would probably thrive with a dog his size that likes to play. But he could do well as an only dog as long as he had some physical and mental activities to stimulate him. We think he would be good with kids, but would need to be monitored with small children until he gets gets used to their size. He also has done just fine with cats. He wants to play with them sometimes, but gets the message when they don't want to play back.

Chance was found with his sibling as a stray and was very underweight, only 21 pounds! He is looking full and dapper now, but he does still resource guard a little, which is understandable considering he went quite a while with very little food. He eats out of a slow feeder in his kennel and this has worked just great for him and the other dogs in his foster home.

Chance is such a sweet guy and just loves being around his people. He's hoping that might be you!
