Hi, I’m Champi!
My foster mom thinks I was born in a puppy mill in Pennsylvania. Not really sure which one, but literally the only thing I came with was a piece of paper with my Pug Mom and Pug Dads names on it.
I was with a nice family here in So Fl, but there were a couple incidences around food and I bit the kids I lived with. Afterward I was put to live outside. It was OK because I had two dog brothers to live with me out there. Only problem was, I wasn’t given any heartworm or flea/tick preventatives so I ended up with heart worms. I’ve had heart worms long enough for them to start reproducing so it will take some time for me too go through the heartworm treatment process. My foster mom says it will be rough and will take some time but she is going to make sure that they are all gone as soon as possible!
I haven’t learned to be housebroken. That may be partly because I have not been neutered but could also be because I was put to live outside and could pee anywhere I wanted to. I’ll need someone to be patient with me and teach me how to be housebroken. I do so want to be part of a family and live in the house.. maybe even sleep in your bed...
I found out that I have severe hip dysplasia in one of my hips. That must be why it hurts so bad and why I hold it up when I run. Foster mom says that can be fixed too with surgery but not until after the heartworm‘s have cleared up and I am healthy enough to do that.
I’m really looking forward to settling in with a family that will be patient, loving and kind and make me feel like I am wanted and loved. I do get along with other dogs. I need to be in a home with older kids that know how to interact with dogs. I need a yard to run in, because I love to run and play!
I’m not crazy for treats. I do love to chase! I’m not supposed to but I like to chase and bark after things with wheels. (Bikes, Cars, etc). We’re working on that. I also like to bark if I see someone outside the window (intruders!) We’re working on that too. I love to play with toys!
Did I mention I’m only two years old? Foster mom says I’ve been through a lot for only two years but that there’s only good things ahead of me from now on!
