Description:
Champ is the sweetest dog. He loves being petted and loves to lay his head on your lap on the couch.

He is an explorer outside, but if left alone, he will explore all the way into the next county. A long lead or E-collar on vibrate keeps him within a safe range for supervised exploration. He has slowed down in the last few years so a good walk, on or off leash, will keep him quite happy. He is a great house dog, content to lounge around most of the day and is a great alert dog, barking at suspicious people he sees outside, but is the most well-mannered boy once those people are invited in. He does not jump and knows basic commands and is crate and housetrained.

His BEST fit would be a home with no kids or no kids younger than middle school and preferably no other dogs and not cats.

He would be wonderful for empty nesters and would ADORE their attention. Could you be the lap he can lay his head on during his senior years?
What is the funniest thing your foster dog does?
When Champ is tired, he stands by the bedroom and whines to be put to bed. He will lead you to the door and climb into his kennel on his own then curl up after a pat on the head. He also LOVES car rides. He will dance in place when he sees his owner headed for the car. Then he stands the whole ride so he can watch things go by. But tell the neighbors to watch out or he may end up in their car if their doors are left open!
