CHAMP! This little guy has come so far and fought so hard for a second chance at a healthy life. He came into our care in late December with severe infection from multiple skin issues that were not properly treated. Fortunately, with your support and the expertise of our vet partners at @citypets_nash, we were able to get him on a treatment plan and on his way to being a normal puppy again. There’s no denying that Champ has faced an incredible amount of hardship in his short life, but he is overcoming every obstacle. His skin looks worlds better and we are to happy for him. He does have Idiopathic Sterile Nodular Panniculitis which is an auto immune disorder. This is managed well with medications and often goes away with time or becomes relatively non-existent with medication and it won't prevent him from living a long, happy life!.

Champ is a 4-month-old mixed breed that is expected to be a medium-large breed dog when he’s full grown. He’s a puppy with a big heart and a lot of love to give! He enjoys snuggling and has a deep love for bones and toys. After nap time, he’ll find his people and lean in for some extra pets. He does well with other pups and has enjoyed having another dog to play with at his foster home. He’s somewhat mellow for a puppy but gets bursts of playful energy and enjoys romping around in the yard. Champ has learned his nighttime routine of sleeping in his crate, he knows his basics like “sit” and “down”. He’s still working on potty training but he’s about 90% there. With consistency in training and routines, he’s made amazing progress! Champ has displayed some resource guarding tendencies over his bowls. We are working with a trainer to help mitigate this behavior but he will need a home with an experienced owner who is ready and willing to help him overcome this. With everything he has faced, it’s remarkable to see that it hasn’t stopped him from showing a deep love for people. Champ is a special pup and will be a wonderful addition to a family who is eager to show him love and help him continue to build his confidence!
