Meet Chai! This little love bug was rescued with a group of other dogs from a dog auction in Manitoba. Her favorite things are toys of all kinds, playing in the snow and of course, belly rubs. Chai is a little shy around new people and animals but with gentle introductions she will show you what fun little pup she can be. Needless to say, a yummy treat will go a long way to making Chai your best friend for life! Once she gets to know you Chai will always be by your side and will curl up by your feet while you are working or watching TV.

As she is a puppy, Chai has a lot of new things to learn and experience. Her ideal home will have patient and loving people to help her on her journey from little puppy to a confident, respectful dog. Chai has done well when meeting children in a controlled and familiar environment so a home with respectful, dog savvy children would be okay for Chai.

Chai is not shy to voice her opinion which should be taken into consideration for apartment or condo living. Other than the noise, Chai would do well in most living environments as long as her physical and mental needs are being met.

Chai would be good with another dog with proper and slow introductions to help bring her out of her shell. It might be beneficial for her to have an older dog in the home to show her the ropes. Chai has not been tested with cats.

Chai currently goes for 4 walks a day that are each between 20- 40 minutes. Her fosters also use puzzle feeding and other indoor enrichment activities to help drain her high, puppy energy. An active family would be great for Chai to help keep her physical and mental needs met.

Chai is doing great with her leash training and is just a little shy when approached by new people or dogs. Chai is very food motivated so her obedience training is coming along quickly, and she will be eager to continue learning new things with her forever family.

Chai is doing very well with potty training but it may take her a few days to get into a routine with her new family. Chai has been left alone for very short periods of time. She makes a bit of a fuss but does settle down fairly quickly. Besides being a sock thief, Chai has been trusted with free reign of the house and has been respectful of all items and furniture. She is not currently being crate trained.

Chai enjoys sleeping with her humans at night and mostly sleeps through the night but may try to sneak in a late night play session.

At only 4 months, Chai is too young to be spayed yet. Once she is old enough, her spay will need to be scheduled by her adoptive family at one of our participating partner vets. If the procedure is done with one of our partners, the fee will be covered by Fetch & Releash.
