Chacha Hound Mix Schaumburg, IL

Get ready for Chacha to dance her way into your life! This 5-month-old Hound mix is a sweet, shy girl who loves to play and is looking for her place in the world.
 
Still a pup, Chacha is working hard on her housetraining skills and her comfort with her crate. She’s doing excellent at both, and settles down in her crate fairly quickly and sleeps there all night. During the day she naps in her crate or cozies up with her blanket in her dog bed. She is still in her puppy mouthy stage, occasionally chewing something that isn’t hers but can easily be redirected with one of her toys, especially one that squeaks.
 
Chacha is a fast learner, having already mastered sit, off, no, down, and come. She would do well with some advanced training, perhaps even some agility work. Fetch is her favorite thing, and she would happily spend most of her time in the yard, where she is a courageous explorer and loves to play and run.
 
Leashed walks and other environments with sudden movements or noises, new people and new experiences tend to spook Chacha and send her looking to her people for reassurance and positive feedback. Doing well in environments she trusts, Chacha will need an adopter who can be patient with her and offer her slow introductions to new settings and people. She'd be happiest in a quiet environment, not a noisy city setting.
 
Chacha gets along well with other dogs and would benefit from another young, playful dog in the household. She’s tolerant of cats but would prefer they’re puppy-like in their attitude toward play. She’d prefer the same of her human siblings :)
