Adopt-a-BullBreed: Pit Bull Terrier
Estimated Date of Birth: December 12, 2017
Size: 66 lbs
Location: Talking Rock, GA
Ceely, formerly known as Citrine, ended up at Cherokee County Animal Control where she was labeled "rescue only." She was found as a stray with a rope around her neck. We don't know much about her past, but it was obvious it was not a good one. She appeared to be healthy aside from some skin issues (Demodex). Ceely passed temperament testing, but the shelter staff said she appeared to be a bit fearful of men, was more confident outside, and was more shy indoors. She spent over a month at Animal Control before she got her freedom ride on December 12, 2019.
Ceely is now enjoying that foster life and on the hunt for her forever family. She is fully vetted, crate-trained and housebroken. She loves being outside, going for walks, playing in the creek, and chasing balls. She also loves cuddling on the sofa with her doggie friends or in the recliner with her foster mom. She currently has two doggie foster-siblings (a male and a female) and she has the most adorable play-bows and hops when playing with them in the yard. She's even good with the horses on the property! Ceely is still a bit nervous around strangers and tends to bark when she's afraid. Her foster family is working on this and she is showing lots of improvement. With slow, proper introductions, Ceely warms up to people and will lick their hands. She takes treats gently, is extremely sweet, and loves a good belly rub. She is learning to enjoy being a much loved member of a family. It is apparent that humans were previously unkind to her, so Ceely is looking for a forever family that will give her the some time to adjust and continue learning that not all people are cruel. She is a wonderful girl who would do well in a home with another dog and even horses! She is probably not suited for a home with cats as she seems to be overly interested in her foster family's barn cats.
