CC's Story
CC came to us near the end of March, completely malnourished and neglected. She was surrendered due to losing weight after having her litter of puppies; the previous owners did not know why. She came to us at a very emaciated 36 pounds. The owners decided to keep the puppies and surrender CC. CC needed immediate surgery due to having a corn cob lodged in her intestines, which was immediately removed. She was also spayed at the same time due to having a retained placenta from giving birth (we are unsure how long that was in there). After her surgery, she was placed on a high-protein and high-fat diet that she was fed multiple times a day after being reintroduced to meals slowly. Today, she weighs in at 55.6 pounds! She gained the 20 pounds needed to be healthy again. Her fur has a small amount of patchiness in areas due to her neglect, but it looks to be getting better every week with the continued quality diet and care she is receiving. She has never once stopped wagging her tail since she came into our care. CC has been through a horrible case of neglect that no animal should ever go through, but she continues to seek out the love and affection of humans. She would thrive with an active person as she LOVES to go on long walks/hikes. She would also do well with children of any age - she is highly fond of human children. Due to us not fully knowing CC's previous history, she would do best in a home with no dogs or cats now - she is not aggressive. Still, she lacks confidence around other animals, fearing getting attention or having her toys and space messed with. CC is 2 years old. She is 4DX negative, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed. CC is fully crate trained and potty trained! She is waiting for her perfect family to find her. Could that be you?
