Meet Cato

Catoooo! This handsome 3 year old, 85 pound Rottweiler is about as handsome of a boy as you can get! Cato was purchased from a breeder as a puppy and then surrendered to rescue after living outdoors for the better part of his life. While in rescue, Cato was treated for heartworms, giving his foster family lots of time to get to know his goofy personality! Cato is potty trained and is fantastic in his crate. He will go into his crate on command. You won't hear a peep from him while in the crate unless someone comes to the door - then he'll be sure to let you know! Cato is fostered with kids, dogs and cats. While he is great with the foster kids in his home, he does prefer to be the only animal as Cato has a difficult time differentiating playing and fighting, making living with another animal a bit stressful for him. Cato LOVES his fenced in yard. His favorite game is to see how quickly he can knock over the patio chairs outside and then will sit pretty to show off his work! Cato loves his foster mom and dad and while he listens very well to commands, he is still working on his leash training and will need an adopter who is strong enough to control him and teach him to be a good boy on the leash!

Cato is the sweetest, goofiest boy with the most adorable stump tail and most killer head tilt you could ever hope to see. This guy has had a rough start to life, but he is so excited to see what the future brings for him and his future family! If you'd like to make Cato a part of your family, apply today! Cato's adoption fee is $250.

To adopt this pet, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt

All of our dogs come spayed or neutered, fully up to date on vaccinations, including rabies (if age appropriate) and bordetella, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals.

For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the dog you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible.

We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where dogs can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting a dog in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Thanks so much for caring about a needy animal!
