What kind of home would be best for me?
Cassie needs an adopter who can offer her the love and care she has never known. As a breeder release dog, she hasn't had the benefit of a loving, nurturing home. She'll need a special person who has an abundance of patience, time, and commitment to help her blossom into the happy, loving companion she has the potential to be. While we give her as much love as we can here, Cassie will thrive in a home where she has one-on-one attention and training, ideally with someone who is home most or all of the day.

Cassie would do well whether her adopter is a single person, a couple, or a family. Because she is still shy and fearful of new things, if adopted by a family Cassie would do better with older children (12+ years old) who can be respectful of her. Cassie does require another large, confident dog in the home. She has never lived without canine companions and needs a confident companion that will help teach her how to be a pet.

What is my personality like?

Meet Cassie, a beautiful Irish Setter who's looking for a loving forever home.
Cassie came to us after retiring from a breeder. Cassie is now ready to find a forever home filled with patience, love, and understanding as she adjusts to life as a beloved pet.

Like many breeder release dogs Cassie is experiencing many things for the first time. She is learning that people can be very nice to be around - and they often have treats! Despite not having much human interaction she enjoys being with people but is it tad reserved upon first meeting. It's quickly apparent that she loves people and the loving attention she gets from them. Her tail wags at around 100 mph when she gets loving!

Cassie is already walking on a leash but still needs help learning basic commands like down

, come, sit, stay, etc.

With some time and patience, she will become a wonderful addition to any home.

Cassie is still adjusting to the world around her and can be reserved and cautious at first. But with time, she opens up and enjoys attention and affection from people.

How do I act when I first meet new people? Cassie is
a bit shy when meeting new people but quickly warms up. After a few minutes, she'll lean in for pets and enjoy all the love you have to offer.

Other tips and tidbits: Cassie's birthday is 5/28/2018.

House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule if a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.
