Casper has recently joined our rescue. Casper came from a shelter in Chicago; his family relinquished him because they were evicted from their home and were moving into a new place where dogs were not allowed. This was actually all good news for poor Casper, he had been subjected to living in a cage his entire life. As you can imagine, this sad situation paid a toll on Casper; he is very hesitant of new people, not socialized well, he had never been walked on leash and has no idea what to do, so hits the ground and refuses to move. Everything is quite overwhelming for Casper right now, so we are moving slowly. Casper is in the process of being vaccinated and neutered too. He is 11 years old, under 20 lbs. If you have the time and heart to offer Casper a furever home you will be able to experience the most amazing thing in rescue, that is watching a truly broken dog, that never asked for what he got, blossom into a real dog and live a bit of the pampered life he so deserves. Remember these are not "bad" dogs, they are only the result of what their former people did, or did not do, to and for them. Puppies are born sweet and helpless; they depend on good mama dog, sibling, AND human interaction to become the wonderful companions they are meant to be. American Eskimo Dogs generally live 13 to 16 years, many much longer! Whether Casper only has a couple of years left or 6+, please consider being the one who transforms Casper into that loving dog we know he can be! Photos will be posted soon! Casper also needs a foster home. Please send an email to: CERApplications@gmail.com for any questions and an adoption application. Thanks!
