Eight year old, 10-ish pound Carson is ready to be adopted into a forever home.

This little guy is very much a cuddler and likes to be close to or preferrably ON his person as much as possible. Carson also is very sensitive to his person's moods, and does his best to help his person through sad times - he really does try to console and support. And of course it is hard to not feel better by just looking at that sweet face!

Carson is not super active so if you are pretty much a couch potato, he is happy to join in, but if you like to do long walks, he is fine with that, too, for up to several miles, in our experience. Of course, several walks every day are required, as with any dog, but they don't have to always be excessive in length.

Carson is needing a home with a woman or a female couple, as men are not his favorite thing. While he has lived with dogs in foster care, it is best that Carson be the only dog in his home. Carson has visited in a home with a cat and ignored the cat.

Carson does exhibit reactivity issues with, oddly, doors, but he is being taught to return to his bed, via the "place" command, when someone comes to visit and the door is opened. Due to Covid restrictions on normal life, there have been few visitors to Carson's foster home, so it has been a little hard to work on something that isn't happening with any frequency. A training protocol IS in place and will be discussed with potential adopters. Carson also barks when he hears noise in the apartment building hallway outside his door (he lives right across from the elevator), and is learning the "place" command for that as well. Carson is not a biter.

Carson has played with toys a little bit, and has enjoyed games of fetch and of monkey in the middle (he's the one in the middle!) but for the most part toys don't interest him. His interest is in being with and pleasing his person. He just really wants to please.

Carson is a beautiful, affectionate dog who is going to make a lucky person very happy.
