Meet Carrie Underwood
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.
You can call me Carrie or Keeley, but really, a name is just a label, and I'm not into those. I am a 4 year old single mother from down south. It's been quite an adventure traveling so far from Texas and I am eager to find my forever family!
I may be a little shy when we meet, but I'm quite trusting and if you're sweet to me, I'll be yours in no time! If you have another dog, even better! Being around other dogs can help me adjust to my new surroundings and if they want to play with me, dog or cat, even better! I've been told I'm a fast learner, but I just want to please my family. When I get excited, I fall victim to what we Chihuahuas call The Zoomies and I also have a chronic case of "tippy-tappy paws," but that's what my foster mom likes about me!
Unfortunately, not too much about my time prior to moving to Minnesota is known. Busy streets and loud noises make me a bit nervous, but I do know simple commands like "sit," & "stay". I'm not completely potty trained yet, but with a little consistency, I'll be house broken in no time! I'm a fast learner, remember?
My favorite times of the day are definitely meal times! I love to eat! You could call me food motivated! After eating, I enjoy filling my days with walks, sniffing around the yard, chasing squirrels or birds around or just having some playtime or a little fetch. I have always wanted a brother or sister to play with, go on adventures with, or to snuggle, I don't even care what species they are!
The perfect ending to my day would be to snuggle up with the whole family for a cuddle-puddle, which I am the center of. I'll just plop over, onto my back and let the tummy rubs begin! I have zero boundaries and want to be all up in your business all of the time, if you'll let me!
So if you are looking for a sweet, silly, loyal and lovable addition to your family, look no further! Anyone would be lucky to have me!
Carrie Underwood is from Texas.
One big thing you should know is they are heartworm positive - but please don't let that scare you away from adopting them! After they undergo treatment for their condition they will be completely healthy again, and heartworm is not a contagious disease.
Because they need treatment, they are available exclusively through Ruff Start's Foster to Adopt (FTA) program.

They will get heartworm treatment at one of Ruff Start's partner veterinary clinics in St. Cloud, so their foster will need to be comfortable getting them to and from the appointments. Treatment will consist of three injections: the first will be roughly 30 days after they enter rescue. Then, the second and third injections will happen 30 days after the first. When they are undergoing treatment, they should be on activity 'restrictions' which just means they should relax in their crate or cuddle with you.
