Capri is the sweetest little pea who, since recovering from mange, is truly a sight to behold. She has gorgeous sandy brown eyes, a grey coat that gets thicker and more lovely every day, a little white patch on her neck, and two cute white sock feet to match!

Capri is only about 8 months old and was found in an alley near the Chicago Police department after being outside in frigid winter conditions for about a week. She had a terrible case of mange with missing fur, dry itchy skin, and scabs caused by mites. She was in quite a miserable and neglected state. With some tender love and care from her foster family though, Capri has proven herself to be one TOUGH cookie and we are happy to report she is in a much better state than she was. She is now living it up and enjoying all the comforts and joys of foster care!

Capri very much enjoys seeing and playing with other dogs! She has two foster dog siblings who she plays and snuggles with every day, and the three of them get along famously! When she's seen other dogs outside, she perks up and wags her tail, ready to play! Capri has really gained a lot of her confidence from being around her foster sisters and we think it'd be nice for her to have puppy siblings in her new home - though she could do very well as a solo dog too!

Capri has had both curious and indifferent responses to meeting cats. She sniffed and watched her friend, Buddy, but didn’t seem interested in chasing or playing with him. Given a proper intro we believe that Capri could potentially live well with cat siblings.

Capri is a little shy when she meets new people, particularly when its large groups or when those people are very tall and tower over her. Given that kids are closer to her size and are more down on her level height wise, she has done splendidly meeting and spending time with kids! With proper intros, Capri loves spending time with humans, and we have no doubt that she would do well in a family with children, as long as they understand Capri's shy nature.

If you're looking for a sweet little snuggle bug who loves to take naps in your lap, Capri is your girl! For being 8 months old she is very well behaved and has responded very well to crate and potty training! She learned to play fetch and tug from her foster sisters and will do goofy little leaps and dives when she chases her toys. Whatever the energy level or activity going on around her, Capri adapts and blends right into the family. Both of her foster parents work from home and she spends time quietly in her crate or playing with toys on the floor while they are busy. She's excellent in the car and LOVES a good puppicino from Starbucks! She is curious, smart, gentle, loving, and an all-around great companion.

While Capri has been through so much in her short life, she has faced all of her challenges with strength, curiosity, and a loving heart. Despite her neglectful and scary past, she has retained an ability to love, form bonds, and trust. Capri has come a long way and with guidance from her new family, she is going to thrive and be the BEST dog. She is looking for a family who will continue to show her that the world is not a scary place and that will let her know she is loved and safe.
