Capi German Shepherd Dog Mix Palgrave, ON

This sweet face belongs to Capi, a 3 year old male Long Haired German Shepherd Mix. Capi found himself in a high kill shelter in Quebec and time was running out for him. He made his way to safety with us with the help of many wonderful volunteer Freedom Drivers. Capi is very sweet and not used to a lot of petting and love. He needs a quiet home with patient people who can let him have his space and slowly show him it is wonderful to be shown affection from people. Capi has probably has never had his own blankets and toys and we see he is sometimes protective of belongings. Capi loves the outdoors and will need his own fenced in backyard so he can roam free and a warm place to curl up in at night when its cold. Capi is ok with other dogs who are calm and not constantly in his space. We don't know about cats and we think he will be best in a home with no small children. Capi needs the most experienced handler who is willing to work on training. He has some housebreaking issues and will need a home who is willing to work on that with him or a home where he can live outdoors in a large secure pen with the proper shelter.
Capi is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.
Haven of the Heart is located near Palgrave and we only adopt out to homes within a 1 to 2 hour drive from Palgrave to save on travel time.
