Canelo American Bully & Labrador Retriever Mix McKenna, WA

Canelo is a three year old big baby. He just wants to be loved on and is quite content with just cozying up on the couch and watching a movie or just basically being wherever you are. His favorite is cozy blankets! Canelo and his 5 year old mother, affectionately named 'Mama' were left by their owner at an abandoned homeless encampment in a chain linked kennel in the 20 degree cold snap with no one to care for them. Church volunteers stepped in to help them get safe and warm. Considering what they have been through they are two of the most lovable babies you will ever meet. Canelo's ideal home is with someone who works from home and who is looking for a lovable best friend to join the family. He is naturally protective and would make a great guard dog. Just the sound of his deep bark is enough to ward off any would be intruders. Canelo takes a short while to warm up to strangers but as soon as he knows you can be trusted he is all about the snuggles. He and Mama would do best adopted separately as they tend to get into tiffs when they compete for attention or bones. For this reason we think they will do best as only dogs in the household but there's no reason to believe they could not play well with others. Canelo is neutered, chipped and vaccinated.
