Candy Australian Cattle Dog / Blue Heeler Mix Scituate, MA

Candy is as sweet as her name. This lady is about 2-years-old and a recent mom to four puppies. She is outgoing and super friendly!

Candy likely had a rough go of life in the beginning. She was found roaming and thankfully taken in by kind people looking to help. Despite that, she is a loving dog looking for attention!

Candy does lack some basic dog skills. She is unsure how to walk on a leash but has been doing well working with our volunteers. She does not know basic commands but responds to her name being called. If you know cattle dogs you know just how smart they are! With consistency and training Candy will learn these skills fast!

This breed is not for a new dog owner. We are hoping to find a home with breed experience, someone who knows what it entails to own a working breed dog. Candy has been very selective with dogs she wants to be around. We are looking for a home for her as an only pet.

While Candy may be a bit of a work in progress, she will reward you with tons of love!

All dogs are fixed, vaccinated, dewormed, flea treated and heart worm tested before adoption. Adoption fees are $500 for a dog, $550 for a puppy, and $350 for a dog with special needs or senior over 10 years old. Adoption fees allow our non-profit to continue to help pets in need.

Open hours are Wednesdays 1:30-6pm and Saturdays 10am-2pm for you to come view our adoptable pets. You can apply for animal at the shelter during our open hours or online by emailing adopt@scituateanimalshelter.org and asking for an application.

Meet and greets with animals are scheduled after applications have been processed and we’ve determined you are the best fit. We do not operate on a first come, first served basis.
