Callie Pit Bull Terrier & Cattle Dog Mix Millersville, MD

Callie's rescue story began many months ago in Texas. Heavily pregnant, she was picked up from an overcrowded shelter in Texas, and packed onto a van to head to Maryland. Fortunately a volunteer saw her, and concerned that she may deliver on transport (and also didn’t have the appropriate paperwork to travel to across state lines) pulled her from transport and took her home where she would deliver her puppies just two days later. Fast forward two months, and Callie (and her puppies) was once again her way to Maryland. After arriving at Don’t Be a Bully here in MD, it is unknown what became of Callie’s puppies. Callie herself spent weeks at their facility, and was ultimately seized by Baltimore County Animal Services along with 46 other dogs. Unfortunately many of those dogs would ultimately succumb to canine distemper virus. Callie, was one of the lucky ones. Because her foster in Texas had her vaccinated, she was protected from the horrific disease that was running rampant.
Callie is one of 7 dogs that SGAR rescued from BCAS after they were seized from Don’t Be A Bully. Six weeks later, Callie has finally been spayed, fully vaccinated and cleared quarantine. She is a sweet, sometimes shy, but healthy and happy girl. Callie's foster has spent weeks teaching her that there is life beyond a crate, and it shows in her personality. Callie has finally had a chance to shine. Callie has tested well with other dogs, we do not know about cats, and is polishing up on her leash manners.
